The Obscure Satanic Northerner's GORGOROTH are back with yet another great album by standards of the normal governing party of Black Metal fans. With ''Antichrist'' the infernal trio Infernus, Faust & Hat, put in 1996 the successor of ''Pentagram'' on the gift-table GORGOROTH was henceforth the guarantor for releases of legendary Black Metal albums. The obvious is well, that ''Antichrist'' is one of the most popular GORGOROTH releases to date. Its of a good length, around 25 minutes for six songs, it has atmosphere & typical black metal guitars, and it has a perfect arrangement of nasty vocals on the songs. A sound tune that matches the music, hammered down drums, driving riffs, which are even varied from time to time, sum up the overall construct. Added to this is the fascinating, malevolent tracks, which further refines and oppresses the oppressive basic tenor. ''Antichrist'' convinces from run to run more and more & offers barbaric Black Metal. It may be a bit wistful considering the meager performances of GORGOROTH nowadays to look back to this time.
