From Uppsala, north of the Swedish capital, comes with DEATHSWARM another aspirant and is fighting with ''Forward Into Oblivion'' for their entry into the death metal victory halls, to be named there in the same breath like DISMEMBER, UNLEASHED or GRAVE. Some of the band members from the 2017 founded DEATHSWARM, may be known from SARCASM, who have been part of the Swedish scene for over 30 years. So also on their 2021 released 2nd studio album the death metal Maniacs sound like a mixture of UNLEASHED and BOLT THROWER in the 90s. In particular, the extremely deep growls and the constantly on handbrake make the music to a dark journey into the past. The Swedish five-piece has delivered a varied album with its 9 tracks in a classic guise and bowed to one or the other big name in the scene with its own stylistic devices. An album which mainly brings a lot of fun in the cheeks with driving, aggressive and ass-kicking songs and almost constant nodding of the head and shows that the Swedish death metal bands are still leading. The gold vinyl version is limited to 100 copies only, comes with a lyric insert & free download code.
