After BEHEMOTH recorded their debut EP ''And The Forests Dream Eternally'' as a trio, the Polish Metal veterans returned into the black metal scene as brillant duo and released their debut full lenght album ''Sventevith: Storming Near The Baltic'' just a few months later. BEHEMOTH are playing, as on the previous EP, more norwegian than typical polish styled metal & presenting 10 cold & raw Black Metal tracks, but still letting melodies pass through. What has changed in comparison to ''And The Forests Dream Eternally'' is at first view foremost the sound that sounds even more creaky on the album, but also the much more independent style of songwriting or the acoustic guitar, which sounds like Often joined to her fully distorted sister. BEHEMOTH may sound cleaner and more professional later on, but seldom BEHEMOTH was as atmospheric, as emotional and as natural as on '' Sventevith: Storming Near The Baltic '', which so may not only be considered a Black Metal classic, but also represents a nice contrast to the later BEHEMOTH albums.
